LEaping in Lore.

While traveling, I noticed something strange: there are so many places across the US that have a cliff called “Lover’s Leap”.

They tell a familiar story (usually a Native woman forced into marriage who leaps to her death for love.)

That got me wondering….

• How many of these places exist?

• Where did these stories originate?

• Are they real, myths, or is something more sinister going on?

This project maps every “Leap” location in America and investigates the stories attached to them.
